Scheme for Chinese Medical Officers in the Government

PART I
Chinese Medical Officers who are licentiates of the Hongkong College of Medicine.
1. Salary - £120 a year on appointment rising by
annual increments of $5 to £180 a year.
2. He shall sign an agreement to serve the Govern-
ment for twelve years.
3. After ten years service he shall pass an Exani- nation in the practical subjects of his profes- sion and in matters relating to Public Health so as to ensure his keeping up a knowledge of his profession.
PART II.
Chinese Medical Officers who hold the license of an American University or some similar qualification which is recognised under Section 11 of Part II of the Medical Act 1826 as entitling to registration in Great Britain and Ireland without further examination.

1. Salary £140 rising by yearly increments of £5 to £200 a year i.e. on appointment he will receive the status of a licentiate of the Hongkong College of Medicine of years standing and after that be eligible for in- crements according to the scheme laid down in Part I.
2. He shall sign an agreement to serve the
Government for twelve years.
3. After five years' service he shall be required
to pass the examination specified in Part I for licentiates of the local College after their tenth year of service.
4. The rates of salary specified in this scheme
are for Officers whom it is intended to retain permanently in the Service. Government may make other arrangements for the temporary employment, when circumstances require of qualified Medicaly Officers.
